On 9/21/16, Xcel Energy security broadcast an alert for the theft of 400' of 4/0 copper wire, valued at approximately $1,500, from a utility substation in Faribault, MN. Later the same day, an area recycler notified Xcel security of the receipt of the stolen material. One suspect was identified and arrested. In addition to the value of the wire, damage to the substation fence was estimated at $1,380.
