On 11-15-2013, Security Agent Tyson Finch of Northeast Utilities issued a theft alert in reference to the theft of 1200 feet of black insulated control cable that occurred the day prior in Chicopee, MA. Two hours after the alert was broadcast, Tyson Finch was contacted by a representative of Sullivan Metals from nearby Holyoke, MA. This person saw the alert and recalled material matching the description listed on the alert as having been purchased at the facility. Based on the alert, the suspect was identified and a warrant was requested by the Holyoke Police Department. Tyson Finch stated in part, "I can't say enough for this tool and I wave the "Scrap Theft Alert" flag whenever I deal with law enforcement. The word is spreading as evidenced by the success stories." This was a great job by all involved.
